This book containing twenty four folios or double pages was presented by the Reverend William Scales Minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in the Township of Brome in the District of Bedford, Province of Canada to serve as a Register of the acts of Baptism Marriage and Burial to be by him performed and his successors in the aforesaid township, during the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven and the same was this day paraphed by me the undersigned Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for the County of Brome and authenticated with the seal of the said court.

I, the undersigned judge of the said Court: appointed and acting in and for said District of Bedford, having heard the Petitions by their counsel on the Petition by them filed herein for recertification of Register of Civil status, examined the proceedings and proof of record, and having deliberated thereon, Considering that male petitioner has established that at West Brome in the Township of Brome in said District on the twenty second day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy five he was married to Dame Eulalie Almira Pettis by the Reverend William Alfred Allen, a minister of the Methodist Church of Canada at West Brome in the Brome Circuit; so called, of said Church in said Township of Brome at said date: and as such in charge of the Registers of Acts of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials of said Church for that locality: that Rosman J Ladd and Diana Pettes, his wife, both of said Township of Brome were witnesses present at and assisting as such at said marriage, as appears by their affidavits attached to said petition: that no entry of the act of said marriage was made and entered in the Registers of Civil Status of the said Circuit; as appears by the certificate of the Prothonotary of said Court filed herein, and by said affidavits annexed to said petition; and that the said Reverend William Alfred Allen at that time in charge of said Circuit of said Church at West Brome omitted to enter the same on said Registers of Civil States have been duly notified of the said application as appears of record. interest to have said omission now rectified: Do in consequence grant the said Petition: do order that the Registers of Civil States of the Brome Circuit at West Brome of the said Methodist Church of Canada for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy five (1875), be rectified by supplying the omission arising from the failure to insert therein the Act of Marriage of the said James Hershel Pettis showing them to have been married at said West Brome on the twenty second day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy five by the said Reverend William Alfred Allen in the presence of said witnesses Rosman J Ladd and Diana Pettis and do further order that the depositaries of said Registers to wit the Prothonotary of said Court for the duplicate Register and the Minister in charge of said Church at West Brome in the said Brome Circuit for the permanent register shall come such sedification to be made in each of said Registers by inscribing a copy of this judgement in the margin of each of said Registers at the place dun* the said Act should have been entered and if there be no margin, there on a sheet of proper width shall remain annexed to said Registers.

This book containing twenty four folios or double pages was this day presented by the Reverend Thomas Rennie Minister of the Methodist Church in the West part of the Township of Brome in the District of Bedford, to use as a Register of the Acts of Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, to be by him performed or his successors in office, in the said Church, during the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy nine only, and was this day paraphed by me the undersigned Prothonotary of the Superior Court of Lower Canada, for the District of Bedford, and authenticated with the seal of the said Court.
